Dear Parents:
My staff and I welcome you and your child to Lloyd M. Bentsen Elementary. We are excited and are looking forward to a great new year with your child. We had a very successful academic year in 2008-09. Bentsen Elementary received the honor of being one of the districts Exemplary Campuses. The quality of education at our school is of the highest caliber and we take pride in ensuring that every child learns to their maximum potential.
Our campus has added one hundred new students and five new staff members. Together we will make a difference in your childs learning.
The school day schedule will be a little different. The school day will begin at 7:30 a.m. and dismiss at 3:15 p.m. The school buses will pick up your children before seven. Breakfast will be served the classroom from 7:20-7:40 a.m. All instruction will begin promptly at 7:45 a.m. If any student comes in after 7:45 they will be counted as late. Lunch is provided free of charge for all students. The front doors will be locked at 2:30 p.m. After the school day ends, the school buses will deliver your child. The district recommends that parents avoid the traffic and allow their child to ride the bus to and from school to help diminish traffic congestion and prevent parent loss of valuable time. This will assist us with running a more efficient school day.
We kindly ask that all visitors to our campus report to the front office to sign in. You will need to bring a driver's license or picture I.D. to be admitted as a visitor.
